Movement and balance can be difficult to assess purely by observation. Our MoCAP and POISE Balance Pad technologies bring objective information into rehabilitation, helping clinicians better understand movement and balance performance.

By making aspects of movement measurable, technology can complement clinical observation and help therapists identify changes over time. When we can measure movement more precisely, we can understand it better—and use that understanding to guide rehabilitation more effectively.

Cognitive rehabilitation requires repetition, attention and active participation. Our technology-enabled cognitive games are designed to make this process more engaging while working on abilities such as attention, memory, processing, problem-solving and cognitive control.

Rather than making cognitive rehabilitation feel like a routine exercise, interactive technology can create opportunities for patients to participate, challenge themselves and experience progress. We believe rehabilitation should challenge the brain while keeping the patient engaged in the journey.

For some patients, weakness, poor balance or reduced motor control can make standing and walking difficult in the early stages of recovery. A body weight support system can provide the appropriate level of assistance while allowing patients to practise important movement patterns.

As their abilities improve, support can be progressively reduced. The objective is not to carry the patient—it is to create a safe opportunity to practise movement until the patient can carry more of their own weight.
